Join us for this unique opportunity to visit the 100 year old Chicago Federal Reserve. Cindy will discuss the major roles of our central bank and how it impacts our lives. She’ll also discuss the transition from Ben Bernanke to Janet Yellen and provide us with an insider view to the state of the economy for 2015. And we’ll start out with a brief visit to the “Money Musuem”!

About the Speaker: Cindy Ivanac-Lillig

Cindy joined the Chicago Fed in 2008 as an Economic Outreach Specialist. She leads a variety of economic education programs aimed at educators, students and professional associations across the Midwest. She frequently speaks at professional development seminars on the role of the Fed and monetary policy. She also authors a blog for the Chicago Fed entitled, Marginalthoughts.org, which aims to make economics more digestible and thought-provoking.

Prior to joining the Chicago Fed, Cindy worked in microfinance for a large international organization, where she oversaw a multi-million dollar USAID microfinance program. Her background also includes a number of years in financial consulting with Ernst & Young and work abroad for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.

Cindy received her Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Boston College and her Masters Degree in International Development and Economics from Johns Hopkins University.
